Dollzuki Maine Coons began with a rescue cat named Georgie. Sixteen years ago, Karen brought home a beautiful ginger tom, who she later discovered was
three-quarters Maine Coon, and everything made sense.

After years of volunteering cats in need, Karen founded Dollzuki on the values of patience, trust, and heartfelt care. 18th March - Stephen Barnard

The story of wartime documentary maker, Humphrey Jennings. Having spent the 1930s as a poet, surrealist painter and co-founder of the Mass Observation research project, Suffolk-born Humphrey Jennings found his true niche in the Second World War as one of the finest documentary film makers in UK cinema history. Rejecting tub-thumping propaganda in favour of a quieter, more reflective depiction of wartime life, his films remain uniquely atmospheric visual records of Britain's home front. Illustrated with excerpts from his films, this talk traces the story of this remarkable artist-in-celluloid, whose life was tragically cut short by a climbing accident in Greece in 1950.

22nd April  Sarah Haskell Behind the Camouflage.....

“For as long as most of us can remember, the armed forces have been built around the idea of masculinity — strength, confidence, aggression, a tight-knit brotherhood. And the British Armed Forces are no different, where women making up no more than13% of serving personnel.
How on earth do women not just survive in that world, but actually find a way to thrive?
Back in 1993, Sarah applied to join the Royal Air Force — and to her own surprise, she got in. Fast‑forward 33 years, and she’s served in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Falklands, the Balkans, Northern Ireland. She’s seen the best and the worst of military life, so she is well placed to pull back the camouflage and talk honestly about what it’s like to live and work in uniform as a woman.
She’ll talk about the compromises you make, the things you quietly push back against, and the moments of grit and humour that get you through. And she’ll share why, after three decades,  even though she is a full time photographer, she still chooses to wear the uniform on a part‑time basis.”
